Counsel #17 — The Hard Reality

Picture: Counsel #17 — The Hard RealityCLi 104.1

Breaking free from a porn problem starts primarily with self-awareness and honesty. Whenever you are confused about whether or not porn has become a serious issue in your life, look for signs of frequent, compulsive use despite efforts to stop. Additionally, if pornography interferes with your daily life, relationships, or responsibilities in any way, you know that you have allowed pornography to become your “idol.”CLi 104.2

Whenever you truly recognize that your life is being controlled by the stronghold of porn, run to God for cleansing and a mind renewal. It’s important to remember that we are only flesh and bone, and we don’t have the ability to stop watching porn, despite our efforts, without God’s supernatural power. It takes a lot of courage, self-reflection, and honesty to realize you have a problem, but once you take the first step to get help and faith-based guidance, what once had you bound will be forced to set you free.[96]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/2004/03/pornography-the-journey-to-healing.htmlCLi 104.3

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22 NIVCLi 104.4

“By being circumspect, reserved, taking no liberties, receiving no unwarrantable attentions, but preserving a high moral tone and becoming dignity, much evil might be avoided. “Ellen White in Letters to Young Lovers, p. 28CLi 104.5

Reflect: How can denying you have a problem prevent true healing?CLi 104.6
