Counsel #6 — Still Small Voice

Picture: Counsel #6 — Still Small VoiceCLi 93.1

Whenever we watch porn, it instantly disrupts our spiritual connection with God. A big part of our relationship with our Creator is being able to hear His voice and yield to the Holy Spirit’s direction but filling our minds with pornographic material blocks God from being able to give us wisdom and discernment on how to avoid Satan’s traps.[84]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/sin/how-to-resist-temptation/CLi 93.2

The Holy Spirit brings healing and gives us the strength to resist temptation. The Lord promises that He will never give us more than we can bear, so know that whenever we are led astray by pornography, that’s our sign to draw closer to God. In this life, we need the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom beyond our earthly, human understanding and discernment to avoid putting ourselves in situations that will lead us to sin. Through prayer and meditating on the word, God can replace shame with grace and despair with hope.CLi 93.3

“No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.” 1 John 3:6 NIVCLi 93.4

“Sensuality is the sin of the age. But the religion of Jesus Christ will hold the lines of control over every species or unlawful liberty: the moral powers will hold the lines of control over every thought, word, and action.” Ellen White in Letters to Young Lovers, p. 27CLi 93.5

Reflect: How can you ensure the Holy Spirit’s guidance in your struggle?CLi 93.6
