  • Cause distractions: Cell phones can be a major distraction in school, at work, and in social situations. When we are constantly checking our phones, we are less likely to be present in the moment.
  • Using while driving: Just don’t. It takes just one distracted second to cause life-shattering injuries and even death.
  • Lead to addiction: Cell phones can be addictive. The constant stimulation of social media, games, and other apps can make it difficult to put our phones down.
  • Damage our relationships: Cell phones can interfere with our relationships with our friends, family, our spouses, and even God! When we are constantly checking our phones, we are not giving those we love our full attention.
  • Sexting: It may seem innocent and even slip into the “everyone does it” category, but a Christian who loves Jesus will not engage in sexting.
  • Harm our health: Overuse of cell phones can lead to problems such as eye strain, headaches, depression, anxiety, and sleep deprivation.
  • “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” James 4:17 NKJVCLi 50.3

“The body, with the mind and its central nervous system, is the only medium through which God can communicate with human beings.” Ellen White in The Ministry of Healing, p. 130CLi 50.4
