Counsel #28 — Walking In Humility

Picture: Counsel #28 — Walking In HumilityCLi 38.1

Engaging regularly on platforms that elevate physical appearance and material possessions can make it challenging to stay humble. Social media is filled with people showcasing what they have, reinforcing this focus on superficial worth.CLi 38.2

Considering this, we should remember the importance of stewardship. As believers, God blesses us not so we can flaunt our blessings, but so we can bless others. If God provides a better job, for example, instead of sharing how much you’ll earn or what you can now afford, share the journey that led you there—how trusting in God and staying rooted in His Word opened that door. Receiving good things isn’t a sin, nor is sharing your blessings wrong. But true gratitude lies in acknowledging the Giver. When we thank God for all we have—and even for what we lack—we safeguard ourselves against self-glorification and stay focused on Him.[35]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDdC763a0TMCLi 38.3

“For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 14:11 NIVCLi 38.4

“It is your work…to humble yourself and not wait for God to humble you. God’s hand at times bears heavily upon men to humble them and bring them into a proper position before Him; but how much better it is to keep the heart daily humbled before God.” Ellen White in Lift Him Up, p. 282CLi 38.5
