    Counsel #13 — Biological Evidence

    Picture: Counsel #13 — Biological EvidenceCCW 150.1

Another type of evidence that is not compatible with the radiometric dating time scale is biological rather than geological. After death, an organism's body, which is rich in proteins, begins to decompose. Chemists understand the breakdown rates of various molecules, including proteins. Although this process is slow, all the proteins should eventually degrade within a few thousand years. Therefore, if a body has been buried in rock for a million years, there shouldn’t be any protein left. However, dinosaurs and other fossils, believed to be 60 million years old or more, still have identifiable protein in their fossilized remains. This has been confirmed in many fossils. Paleontologists report a strong smell of decay when they first dig into a dinosaur quarry. If millions of years had truly passed, this protein shouldn’t still be there. This evidence alone argues that those “millions of years” cannot be accurate. Researchers try to understand how the protein could last so long, but refusing to look beyond their own worldview, it is impossible to explain.[225]https://creation.com/original-animal-protein-fossilsCCW 150.2
