    Counsel #3 — A Day Of Delight!

    Picture: Counsel #3 — A Day Of Delight!CCW 80.1

The Sabbath is the day to rejoice and receive blessings! The constant whir of daily life can leave us feeling depleted. Work, errands, study, and obligations press in, leaving little space for reflection, renewal, and worship. God designated the 7th day Sabbath as His day of rest and rejuvenation. The Sabbath is not merely a day of ceasing every-day activities, but a day of joy (see Psalms 118:24), a time to cultivate gratitude and receive blessings.CCW 80.2

The Sabbath is a gift from God. He set the day apart and made it holy, a sanctuary in time where we can step back from the relentless pursuit of achievement. It is not a day to be endured, but a day to be embraced with joy and anticipation.[109]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/adventist-beliefs/sabbath/CCW 80.3

“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy day of the Lord honorable, and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words, then you shall delight yourself in the Lord….” Isaiah 58:13, 14 NKJVCCW 80.4

“God gave the Ten Commandments, including the Sabbath, to His people as a blessing.” Ellen White in Humble Hero, p. 128 (an adaptation of The Desire of Ages)CCW 80.5
