Counsel #2 — What Are Your Fruits?

    Picture: Counsel #2 — What Are Your Fruits?CCW 20.1

If we are true Christians, how we live our lives will prove we are being transformed. But beware! The fruit of the Spirit isn’t just going to church once a week, paying tithe, staying chaste before marriage, or having a healthy diet. While these things are good, they don’t prove we are becoming like Jesus. Anyone can do these things with or without Him! The real question to ask ourselves is if our impatience, rudeness, frustration, selfishness, or pride is being replaced by patience, kindness, self-control, unselfishness, and humility. Are we actually like Jesus? Or are we simply trying to look good on the outside?[35]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/hidden-power/CCW 20.2

“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” Matthew 7:16 NKJVCCW 20.3

“The fruits we bear in patience, kindness, forbearance and self-denial, will testify of us that we have learned of Jesus. The fruit of the tree testifies if it is a good or corrupt tree. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit…. Profession is nothing. A godly life, alone, will God approve.” Ellen White in Letters and Manuscripts, Volume 3, Lt 28, 1880, par. 9 CCW 20.4

Reflect: What evidence do you have that you are being transformed by the Spirit, beyond external actions?CCW 20.5
