Thomas Edison remarked, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.” Edison definitely had more than 1% inspired genius since he had one of the highest numbers of patents on record. However, his hyperbolic quote is a testament to the importance of resilience, grit, and passion. Perspiration is immensely important in spiritual matters. If emotion equates to inspiration, perspiration equates to diligence. Wrestle with God; ask great things of him; have faith; be persistent. As the Apostle Paul writes, God rewards those who “diligently seek Him.”^{[59]https://www.adventist.org/prayer/}CCW 43.2
