    Counsel #5 — Never Alone

    Picture: Counsel #5 — Never AloneCCW 74.1

While Jesus works as our Mediator in heaven, He is our Advocate. When this ministry concludes, this does not mean He abandons us to survive on our own. Think of it this way: no caring parent would just bail on their kid when things get rough. Sure, Jesus won't keep up His role as an Intercessor when His mission wraps up, but that's because when we understand the Bible descriptively, as His followers we will have fully embraced and settled into our bond with Him. Just as God currently gives us the power to overcome now, He ensures we're secure when probation ends. The idea isn't to suddenly start overcoming by ourselves post-probation. If that were the case, what's the point of learning to lean on His strength all this time now? That would just set us up for failure. Our job is to get the hang of depending on Him completely NOW, so it becomes our default in which all our thoughts and actions are based for eternity.[103]https://adventistreview.org/commentary/the-trouble-with-the-time-of-trouble/CCW 74.2

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” Psalms 466:1b NKJVCCW 74.3

“Our strength is in Jesus, our advocate. If we, in humility and humble trust, hold fast to God, he will give us grace and heavenly wisdom to withstand all the wiles of Satan, and to come off victors.” Ellen White in Testimony for the Church, no. 25, p. 173.1CCW 74.4

Reflect: How does knowing that God will never leave or forsake His people impact your view of judgment?CCW 74.5
