Counsel #9 — The Call To Action: Protecting A Sacred Right

Picture: Counsel #9 — The Call To Action: Protecting A Sacred RightCCW 117.1

Religious liberty is not a passive entitlement! True followers of Christ have a responsibility to denounce tyranny, expose political corruption, and advocate resolutely for religious freedom. Our faith compels us to fight for justice (sometimes the political arena and written arena are where these battles are fought). Use your votes for the candidates most likely to preserve religious liberty.CCW 117.2

Following Jesus’ teachings of love and justice, Christians have a moral obligation to champion government protections for the vulnerable and oppressed in society. This includes defending those facing religious persecution, ensuring the government itself isn't a source of oppression, and striving for a just system that safeguards the civil rights and liberties of all people, regardless of their religious beliefs.[175]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/adventist-culture/religious-liberty/CCW 117.3

And don’t forget to pray for religious liberty for all!CCW 117.4

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” Isaiah 61:1 NKJVCCW 117.5

“Many deplore the wrongs which they know exist, but consider themselves free from all responsibility in the matter. This cannot be. Every individual exerts an influence in society…. In our favored land, every voter has some voice in determining what laws shall control the nation." Ellen White in Gospel Workers, p. 387CCW 117.6

Reflect: How can you separate genuine religious conviction from political agendas disguised as faith?CCW 117.7
