Counsel #3 — Knowing God, Having Life

Picture: Counsel #3 — Knowing God, Having LifeCCW 21.1

Most of us are ordinary people. It is unlikely we will ever have a private audience with the President of the United States or the King of England. And it’s safe to say we’ll never call these powerful people our friends. However, each of us has the opportunity to know the most powerful Being in the universe today—personally. We might not have the ability to influence political decisions here on earth. But, through Christ, we can ask God for His blessings. God isn’t just a distant sovereign. He is our Friend, and He is willing to give us incredible gifts. More profoundly, the Bible suggests that knowing Jesus is what eternal life is all about today.[36]https://www.ministrymagazine.org/archive/2003/03/why-should-jesus-be-both-divine-and-human.html Rather than waiting for Heaven to finally be happy, we can live joyful, abundant lives now, experiencing God walk with us daily.CCW 21.2

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 NKJVCCW 21.3

“Do we not all wish to learn how to gain eternal life? It is gained by knowing God and Jesus Christ.” Ellen White in Experiences in Australia, p. 266.1CCW 21.4
