Counsel #9 — Beyond The Ordinary

Picture: Counsel #9 — Beyond The OrdinaryCCW 27.1

There are three types of people on this planet: (1) Those who live without purpose, (2) those who strive to achieve egotistical ambitions, and (3) those who want to fulfill God’s design on earth. True Christian living is about a lifestyle of inspiring, missional commitment to sharing Christ with all humanity. Viktor Frankl, a holocaust survivor, declared that “the meaning of life is to give life meaning.” Frankl articulated how prisoners who possessed a sense of purpose were more likely to survive than those who despaired without hope. As Christians, our purpose in life is to give others purpose in Christ’s soon return.[42]https://adventistreview.org/perspectives/columnists/living-your-legacy/CCW 27.2

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8CCW 27.3

“Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary. He who drinks of the living water becomes a fountain of life. The receiver becomes a giver.” Ellen White, The Desire of Ages, 195CCW 27.4

“We are to give evidence that we are influenced and controlled by unselfish principles. All our purposes and pursuits should stand in distinct contrast to the selfishness of the world.” Ellen White in Medical Missionary, June 1, 1891, par. 7CCW 27.5
