Counsel #5 — Speaking To God

Picture: Counsel #5 — Speaking To GodCCW 23.1

Talking to God isn’t always easy. What do you say to Someone who knows everything about you anyway? But that isn’t the point. The reason why we talk to God isn’t because He needs to know what we have to say. We talk to Him because we need to learn how to be intimate with Him. Like a parent listening to a small child tell about his day, God might know everything we have to say but delights to hear us share that with Him anyway.CCW 23.2

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJVCCW 23.3

“If the rush of work is allowed to drive us from our purpose of seeking the Lord daily, we shall make mistakes, we shall incur losses, for the Lord is not with us; we have closed the door, so that He cannot find access to our souls. But if we pray, even when our hands are employed, the Saviour’s ear is open to hear our petition.” Ellen White in Letters and Manuscripts, Letter 22, 1890, par. 55CCW 23.4

Reflect: In busy moments, do you find it challenging to maintain a connection with God? How can you integrate prayer into your daily activities?[38]https://adventistreview.org/2012-1521/2012-1521-26/ CCW 23.5
