Counsel #4 — Enter Secular Philosophy

Picture: Counsel #4 — Enter Secular PhilosophyCCW 141.1

Around the 18th century, scholars increasingly began rejecting authoritarian sources such as the Bible and questioning miracles. This rejection was not guided by evidence, but by individual choices of what scholars wanted to believe. The commitment to this secular philosophy has become firmly entrenched among many individuals and closes minds against evidence that contradicts the philosophy. If carefully developed evidence that questions the theory of millions of years is submitted for publishing in a research journal, it will not be accepted, because it doesn’t fit the recognized theory. Several geologists have experienced this exact situation. The proposed biblical assumption is not antiscientific; rather, it faces some serious problems in modern scientific culture. Modern science is an important method of discovery, and it works best if unpopular questions can be asked.[209]https://adventistreview.org/magazine-article/faith-in-science-that-makes-sense/CCW 141.2
