Seventh-day Adventists avoid aligning ourselves institutionally with any one political party.^{[180]https://www.pastortedwilson.org/q-why-are-adventists-all-republicans/} Political parties often take stances on a wide range of issues, some of which may conflict with Adventist beliefs. By remaining independent, we can advocate for the issues that resonate most deeply with our faith, such as religious liberty, social justice initiatives that help the poor and marginalized, temperance, and policies that promote peace and the well-being of all.CCW 121.2

This doesn't mean Adventists are passive. The church encourages informed participation in the political process. Here's how you can be active citizens while staying true to the non-partisan approach:CCW 121.3

Register to vote and stay informed about the issues.

Evaluate candidates based on their character and positions on issues important to you, such as religious liberty, social justice, temperance and care of the earth.

Contact your elected officials and express your views on important matters.

Support organizations that promote good government and civic engagement.
