    Counsel #10 — Created In God’s Image

    Picture: Counsel #10 — Created In God’s ImageCR 151.1

From a Christian standpoint, we can each work toward the ideal of workplace harmony as reflected in the divine unity found in the Trinity! That might sound rather ethereal when you consider your workplace, but when we work together harmoniously, we are imitating the way God works in the world. This requires you to be selfless, to prioritize the needs of others over your own, and to be willing to compromise and cooperate. It also demands that you treat your colleagues with respect, dignity, and kindness, recognizing that we are all made in the image of God, even the most annoying![144]https://www.adventist.org/nature-of-humanity/in-gods-image/CR 151.2

“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4 NKVCR 151.3

“In the gift of His Son for our redemption, God has shown how high a value He places upon every human soul, and He gives to no man liberty to speak contemptuously of another. We shall see faults and weaknesses in those about us, but God claims every soul as His property—His by creation, and doubly His as purchased by the precious blood of Christ. All were created in His image, and even the most degraded are to be treated with respect and tenderness.“ Ellen White in Reflecting Christ, p. 70CR 151.4

Reflect: How does the understanding that all people are created in God's image influence your interactions with “difficult” colleagues?CR 151.5
