Counsel #3 — Marry A Believer In Christ!

    Picture: Counsel #3 — Marry a Believer in Christ!CR 82.1

To establish a home that reflects God’s ideal of mutual love, support, and affection, you and your husband or wife must be believers in Christ and His power to transform lives. Marry someone who has fully committed themself to Jesus. God plans for you and your spouse to grow closer to each other and to Him as you read the Bible, worship, and pray together.CR 82.2

If you are already married to someone who is not a Bible-believing Christian, let the Spirit of Jesus radiate from you. Be mindful and pray that your unbelieving spouse does not bring you from loving and serving God to ways of living that are not God-honoring. And pray for them![78]https://sabbathprograms.com/forbidden-love-being-unequally-yoked As your spouse sees the joy you find in God, he or she may also want that same joy.CR 82.3

“For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:14 NKJVCR 82.4

“Ask yourself, ‘Will not an unbelieving husband lead my thoughts away from Jesus? He is a lover of pleasure more than a lover of God; will he not lead me to enjoy the things that he enjoys?’” Ellen White in Messages to Young People, p. 440, 441CR 82.5

Reflect: Would your spouse identify you as a positive spiritual influence in their life?CR 82.6
