    Counsel #11 — Spiritual Support

    Picture: Counsel #11 — Spiritual SupportCR 29.1

Supporting a friend's success is crucial for building strong, meaningful relationships. True friendship celebrates others' achievements rather than feeling threatened by them, personifying humility and selflessness. By supporting your friends, you reflect God’s unconditional love and affirm their God-given talents and purpose.CR 29.2

If a friend passes an exam you happened to fail, gets a new car, or achieves some personal milestone, instead of being envious of their blessing or comparing their life to yours, genuinely congratulate them and pray for their continued success. Doing this shows maturity in Christ and allows your friend to fully be able to trust you with their highs and lows in life, regardless of the circumstances of your situation. God has a unique and special plan for every human, but we must trust that His timing is perfect and learn to steward our time correctly while we patiently await our own miracle.[27]https://www.croydonadventist.org/kindness/CR 29.3

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38 NIVCR 29.4

“We are to weep with those that weep, and rejoice with those that rejoice…” Ellen White in Maranatha, p. 103CR 29.5

Reflect: Have you ever gotten jealous of a friend’s success instead of being happy for them? Why do you think you reacted this way?CR 29.6
