Picture: Counsel #18 — Refuel and RechargeCR 129.1

To avoid burnout and to be able to parent with compassion, it's essential for parents to prioritize self-care. With busy schedules filled with work, school pickups, and daily parenting responsibilities, setting aside moments for self-care can make a meaningful difference. Though parenting often takes precedence, small gaps of time in each day can be used to reduce stress and recharge.CR 129.2

Physical activities like going for a walk or playing tennis release endorphins, which improve mood and alleviate stress. Additionally, spending time with friends, pursuing hobbies, playing a musical instrument and connecting with God through prayer or Scripture are effective ways to unwind after a busy day. While our responsibilities as providers and leaders in the home remain, we can still incorporate small, intentional moments of self-care. By doing so, we renew our energy and ensure that we bring our best selves to our families, creating a healthier balance for both parent and child.[123]https://www.adventisthealthcare.com/living-well/make-time-for-self-care/CR 129.3
