Counsel #3 — Pivotal Purpose For Christian Communication

Picture: Counsel #3 — Pivotal Purpose for Christian CommunicationCR 50.1

The purpose of Christian communication is to value each person in our sphere as created in God’s image and to direct them toward redemption. If you accept this purpose for yourself, every aspect of your speech will build others up in Jesus, whether through directly spiritual or routine, everyday conversation.CR 50.2

If you’re a Christian, the ultimate purpose of your communication is to represent Christ in appealing, positive speech and demeanor (expressions, body language, etc.), showing respect and unselfishness toward everyone you come in contact with.[47]https://www.compellingtruth.org/Christian-communication.htmlCR 50.3

“Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” Exodus 4:12 NKJVCR 50.4

“Talk of the goodness and love of Jesus. You and I have been granted the blessing of speech, which is a talent of great value. It is to be used in talking of those things which increase love for Jesus…. Talk faith. Talk of the grace of our Lord and Saviour, of His love and mercy. Let it become natural for the lips to give utterance to precious inspiring words.” Ellen White in 15LtMs, Lt 14, 1900, par. 3CR 50.5

Reflect: How can you be more mindful about communicating in a Christlike way?
