Counsel #28 — Rhythm Of Rest

Picture: Counsel #28 — Rhythm Of RestCWe 135.1

If you often struggle to fall asleep, your circadian rhythm may need resetting. Our circadian rhythms regulate when we feel alert or tired, body temperature fluctuations, hunger, and the timing of hormone releases throughout each 24-hour cycle.CWe 135.2

To realign your sleep schedule and natural rhythms, consider making gradual lifestyle adjustments. Rather than drastically changing your bedtime and wake time, start by shifting them in 30-minute to one-hour increments each day. Increasing your exposure to natural sunlight, especially in the morning, can also help regulate your circadian rhythm, as daylight serves as a signal for wakefulness. Other adjustments, such as changing mealtimes, can support the reset process. Small, intentional steps like these can gradually bring your body’s internal clock back into balance, helping you fall asleep more easily and improving the quality of your rest over time.[146]https://www.thechristiannutritionist.com/podcast/74CWe 135.3

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:22-24 NIVCWe 135.4

“Christ's true followers will walk in the light as He is in the light, and therefore they will not travel in an uncertain way, stumbling because they walk in darkness.” Ellen White in Our High Calling, p. 296CWe 135.5
