    Counsel #13 — Getting Started — Part 2

    Picture: Counsel #13 — Getting Started - Part 2CWe 83.1

Getting started with exercise doesn't have to be overwhelming or discouraging. One way to prevent “burnout” is by being intentional when it comes to your movements throughout the day. For example, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking farther from the entrance, or stretching for a few minutes during breaks at work or school are all small, manageable steps that can help you build confidence and create a foundation for lasting habits.CWe 83.2

In addition, finding an accountability partner for motivation and social interaction can also provide an extra confidence boost if you’re feeling close to giving up. Another important factor in getting started with a consistent exercise routine is to set goals that focus on progress, not perfection. As you work out each day, track your progress in an app or journal, and celebrate your success when you reach certain milestones. If you commit your health journey to God and ask for His strength through every step, He will enable you to take care of your body, mind, and spirit with purpose.[95]https://www.guidestone.org/Resources/Education/Articles/Insurance/Setting-Attainable-Fitness-GoalsCWe 83.3
