Counsel #15 — Not By Sight

Picture: Counsel #15 — Not By SightCWe 25.1

Believing in the unseen can be challenging, especially in a society where science and tangible evidence often overshadow faith in God. Many prioritize what they can see and touch over spiritual truths. However, as Christians, we are called to reject societal norms and embrace a faith rooted in unseen realities. Our Bible verse today reminds us that faith is believing in something you hope for, even when you can’t see it yet.CWe 25.2

True faith requires trust in God’s presence, even when He isn’t visible. This steadfast faith develops through a personal relationship with Him - through prayer, worship, obedience, and serving others. It’s not a one-time decision but a lifelong commitment requiring courage and perseverance to believe beyond what our senses perceive. To live by faith is to recognize that this world isn’t our final home and that we can find joy knowing that God’s constant presence provides unshakable strength in life’s challenges.[23]https://westvaleny.adventistchurch.org/webmasters-blog/walking-by-faith-not-by-sight-part-1CWe 25.3

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIVCWe 25.4

“Faith is not feeling.... True faith is in no sense allied to presumption. Only he who has true faith is secure against presumption, for presumption is Satan's counterfeit of faith.” Ellen White in Prayer, p. 80CWe 25.5

Reflect: Do you struggle with believing in the unseen? If so, how can you better trust God in your life?CWe 25.6
