    Counsel #2 — The Body's Foundation

    Picture: Counsel #2 — The Body&Apos;S FoundationCWe 101.1

Our dependence on water goes far beyond simply quenching our thirst. If fact, 60% of the average human body is composed of this essential liquid. Water is a fundamental building block for the body’s cells, tissues, and organs. The role of water extends far beyond its structure. It acts as a vital transport system, carrying life-giving ingredients to the extremities of our body, ensuring that each cell receives the necessary nutrients to function. Just as important, water flushes out waste products, eliminating cellular byproducts that could otherwise build up and cause harm. Water also plays a key role in regulating our body temperature. Through sweating, water evaporates from our skin, carrying away heat and preventing us from overheating. In essence, water is an essential conductor for our body’s entire system, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently.[112]https://www.adultbiblestudyguide.org/pdf.php?file=2005:3Q:ER:PDFs:ERQ305_09.pdfCWe 101.2

“Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, ‘What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is’…. Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water, and gave the lad a drink.” Genesis 21:17-19 NKJVCWe 101.3

“Pure water to drink and fresh air to breathe… invigorate the vital organs, purify the blood, and help nature in her task of overcoming the bad conditions of the system.” Ellen White in Selected Messages, book 2, p. 456CWe 101.4

Reflect: The passage mentions water as a conductor. How does this metaphor connect to the idea of our body as a vessel for God’s Holy Spirit? (see 1 Corinthians 6:19)CWe 101.5
