    Picture: Counsel #8 — Loss Of Self-ControlCWe 55.1

Before we experience the new birth of spiritual renewal, we may find it difficult in our sinful nature to say no. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. As our faith increases and our convictions deepen, we will reflect more and more the control of self that Jesus modeled in all areas of life.[67]https://www.askanadventistfriend.com/adventist-health/self-control/CWe 55.4

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Galatians 5:22, 23 NKJVCWe 55.5

“In his own strength man cannot rule his spirit. But through Christ he may gain self-control.” Ellen White in Reflecting Christ, p. 293CWe 55.6

Reflect: Do you find yourself blaming your lack of self-control on circumstances or other people? In what ways could you hold yourself accountable for lack of self-control?CWe 55.7
