Counsel #14 — What If We Fall?

    Picture: Counsel #14 — What If We Fall?CWe 61.1

Our faith journey is all about becoming more like Jesus, growing in our character, and radiating His love. But there might be times we feel like crying out to Jesus, overwhelmed by our imperfections. It's easy to get discouraged and want to give up, but that's not what God wants!CWe 61.2

Even when we stumble, God's love is there to catch us. We don't have to carry the burden of our mistakes alone. It's okay to admit our shortcomings and seek comfort and forgiveness at Jesus' feet. John 6:37 (NKJV) reminds us: "Whoever comes to me I will never drive away." God’s love is constant, even when we mess up.[73]https://adventistreview.org/jimmy-phillips-no-fear/CWe 61.3

Let those stumbles fuel a deeper connection with God. Pray more intensely, trust with renewed faith, and get back up with a stronger resolve to keep growing closer to Him.CWe 61.4

“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1 NKJVCWe 61.5

“We shall often have to bow down and weep at the feet of Jesus because of our shortcomings and mistakes, but we are not to be discouraged…. Even if we are overcome by the enemy, we are not cast off, not forsaken and rejected of God.”Ellen White in Steps to Christ, p. 64CWe 61.6

Reflect: How can the concept of Jesus as your "Advocate” be a source of comfort when you sin?CWe 61.7
