    Counsel #12 — Surrender

    Picture: Counsel #12 — SurrenderCWe 22.1

Fully surrendering to God isn’t a one-time decision; rather, it’s something you do daily. But what does surrender truly mean? It means letting go of wanting to control every aspect of your life and trusting that God’s plan is better than your own.CWe 22.2

Proverbs 3:5, 6 is a Scripture that’s well known, but many people only recite the first half even though the second part is the most vital: “In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Let’s be honest, surrendering every part of your life to Jesus isn’t easy. People tend to hold on to their own way of doing things, their worries, and their plans — but there’s a problem with this. Relying on yourself leads to unnecessary exhaustion, frustration, and stress—not to mention YOU make wrong choices! If you want to experience peace in this world, you must give God all control. So, every day, take a moment to ask yourself, “Am I trusting God with everything?” The more you surrender, the more you will see His hand at work in your life.[20]https://stewardship.adventist.org/page695CWe 22.3

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:6 NIVCWe 22.4

“The submissive, self-sacrificing child of God understands by experience what it is to have the peace of Christ.” Ellen White in Lift Him Up, p. 245CWe 22.5

Reflect: Do you trust God with every part of your day and choices? What areas of your life still need to be surrendered?CWe 22.6
