    Counsel #1 — Stress

    Picture: Counsel #1 — StressCWe 40.1

Stress is a normal part of life. Everyone experiences it from time to time. While some stress can be motivating, too much stress can be harmful for our physical and mental health. As Christians, we believe that God is in control of all things, even the things that cause us stress. This belief can give us a sense of peace and hope, even in difficult times. It can also help us to focus on the things that are truly important, and to let go of the things that we cannot control.[45]https://circle.adventistlearningcommunity.com/files/jae/en/jae201981034007.pdfCWe 40.2

In the next days we will discuss ways Christians can deal with stress and find resilience.CWe 40.3

“Attend to me, and hear me; I am restless in my complaint, and moan noisily.” Psalms 55:22CWe 40.4

“Brethren and sisters, do we well to be thus unbelieving? Why should we be ungrateful and distrustful? Jesus is our friend. All heaven is interested in our welfare; and our anxiety and fear grieve the Holy Spirit of God. We should not indulge in a solicitude which only frets and wears us, but does not help us to bear trials.” Ellen White in Our Father Cares, p. 252CWe 40.5
